“Angels descending bring from above echoes of mercy, whispers of love.”
During a recent health care visit I had the pleasure of having an IV inserted in by physical being. Like many human beings, this is not one of my favorite things. During the process, I began to hum one of my favorite hymns Blessed Assurance. The health care provider asked me, “Do you trust me?” Trust, was my answer. Their reply, “Squeeze my hand.” As I grasped their hand and continued to hum my song, the health care worker began to sing Blessed Assurance. The voice was so soothing, it was as if the song became a prayer. As the song of prayer reached its crescendo, the essential worker (my angel) said, “Well Done.” My response, Amen.
Hebrews 13:2, “Do not forget to show hospitality to a stranger, for by doing so some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.” I believe, when we trust God, are obedient, compassionate and kind to all whom we meet, that our Lord will provide us with the company of angels. Angels are essential workers in the kingdom of God. Prayer warriors, visitation ministers, front line workers, preachers, teachers, servant leaders, we are all spiritual heath care providers. Spiritual Health is necessary for our journeys. So, as an IV is inserted into our physical being, we are filled with the fluid of grace and mercy. Remember to Trust in the Blessed Assurance of The Father, Son & Holy Ghost, who places Essential Workers (angels) all around us. Amen.
Thought for the day: Love the company of strangers.
